Having a hard time deciding between the GTRacing and Homall gaming chair for your next purchase? We don’t blame you. The two gaming chairs not only look almost one and the same, but are very closely priced as well, making it that much harder to pick between the two chairs just by reading the Amazon reviews.

To help you make a truly informed decision, we decided to actually purchase both chairs and compare them side by side. Read on to see whether the GTRacing or Homall chair is best for you based on your body size, features, and sitting preference.
GTRacing vs Homall Gaming Chair at a Glance
Features Comparison
From the outside, the GTRacing and Homall chairs look virtually indistinguishable. However. the GTRacing does have a leg up over the Homall in terms of features.
The armrests on the GTRacing chair are 3D (up/down and pivot), while on the Homall chair, they’re fixed. This means in order to adjust the height of the armrests on the Homall chair, you have to change the height of the seat itself.

The recline mechanism on the GTRacing chair is also slightly more robust. It can recline all the way back to 170 degrees, compared to 155 degrees on the Homall. Both chairs support tilting/ rocking the backrest even at the maximum recline angle, which I really appreciate.

Key Takeaway
The biggest consideration here are the armrests, since on the Homall, they are fixed (non height adjustable).
To find out if this is a deal breaker, observe yourself now on the computer as you type, browse the web, or game. “Are your elbows rested on the desk or on the chair’s armrests?”

If your answer to the above is on the chair’s armrests, then you’re better off with height adjustable armrests found on the GTRacing chair to support your arms when you’re working. Otherwise, for resting your arms only during breaks or on the phone, fixed armrests such as those found on the Homall work just as well.
GTRacing vs Homall Size
Let’s take a look at the size of the two chairs now, and whom they are best for in that respect.
The dimensions of the seat is very similar on the Homall and GTRacing chairs:

For the GTRacing chair, the measurement excluding the side wings is 15″ W by 20″ D. For the Homall, it’s 14.5″ W by 20″ D.
In terms of seat height, the Homall rises slightly higher:

Here is the height range of the armrests on the Homall when you adjust the seat height:

And finally, the size of the backrests on the two chairs are almost identical, at 32.5” tall (GTRacing) and 32″ tall (Homall).
Key Takeaway
Considering the size of the two chairs (in addition to the build quality), here’s the ideal body size based on my estimation:
- GTRacing Chair: Height: 5’4″ – 6’1″ Weight: < 230 lbs
- Homall Chair: Height: 5’4″ – 6’2″ Weight: < 200 lbs
GTRacing vs Homall Comfort Level
In the area of comfort, the two gaming chairs are pretty evenly matched, though objectively speaking, the Homall is probably superior.

You’ll find denser and thicker padding on the Homall chair overall. The seat cushion comes with dense foam inside that measures 4″ thick, compared to the 3.1″ softer memory foam on the GTRacing chair.
The Homall chair’s backrest is also more generously padded than its arch rival.
Finally, the external lumbar pillow on the Homall is a lot firmer and more protrusive.
Key Takeaway
The main point to consider here as far as comfort between the two chairs is this – “Do you prefer a firmer but more supportive seat, or one that’s softer, even plush?”
Consider your weight as well when deciding. As someone who is relatively light at 145 lbs, the soft seat on the GTRacing chair is my preference. If you’re heavier however, you may want to opt for the denser foam found on the Homall to minimize the seat depressing on you over time.
Build Quality between the Two Chairs
As budget gaming chairs, neither the GTRacing nor Homall are meant for heavier people, despite their advertised weight capacities. As long as you keep that in mind, the chairs should last a while.

On both chairs, you’ll find a nylon (hardened plastic) base that in theory can support up to 300 lbs of weight.

What’s different is the gas lift. The GTracing chair uses a class 4 gas lift that has a heavier weight capacity than the class 3 lift found on the Homall.
Having said that, I would say the ideal user weight for both chairs is around 230 lbs, and perhaps slightly lower for the Homall due to the gas lift.
Final Thoughts
At the end of the day, the GTRacing chair comes out on top slightly over the Homall chair. Its arms are 3D, the backrest reclines back more, and the gas lift used is a more reassuring class-4 versus the class-3 lift found on the Homall.
Having said that, the Homall chair is more densely and generously padded, and as such, may last longer if you’re on the heavier side (above 170 lbs – 200 lbs).
Once again, here are the recommended body sizes for the two chairs:
- GTRacing Chair: Height: 5’4″ – 6’1″ Weight: < 230 lbs
- Homall Chair: Height: 5’4″ – 6’2″ Weight: < 200 lbs
