So you’re looking for a new gaming chair, and everywhere you look, Secretlab is mentioned as one of the best options out there. While there’s little doubt models like the Secretlab Titan are excellent chairs, the real question is, are they worth it?
In this post I share my honest opinion on whether Secretlab chairs are actually worth the money they command.
Are SecretLab Chairs Worth It?
Let’s jump straight to my verdict first. Overall, yes, I believe Secretlab chairs are well worth it, having personally tried over 2 dozen gaming chairs from all the major gaming chair brands in the last two years. Having said that, I believe the older Titan 2020 models provide better value than the new Titan Evo 2022 based on build quality and the current pricing structure.
Secretlab Gaming Chairs Cost relative to Competition
The price of the gaming chair is perhaps the biggest factor in determining its worthiness. After all, at the end of the day it all comes down to what you’re getting relative to the cost. With that said, here’s the current pricing for all the Secretlab models available:
Secretlab Titan Evo (2022)

Small | Regular | XL |
$499 | $499 | $549 |
- Based on Standard Neo Hybrid Leatherette
- Direct price before any promotions applied
- Check Most Up to Date Price
Secretlab Titan 2020 Edition

Omega | Titan | Titan XL |
$399 | $449 | $529 |
- Based on Standard Leatherette upholstery and Stealth Edition
- Direct price before any promotions applied
- Check Most Up to Date Price
As you can see, the prices run from $400 up to $550 based on the model and year.
If you go with the older 2020 editions, you can save on average around 10%.
Analysis: From a pricing standpoint, Secretlab’s chairs are at the higher end the spectrum compared to other “A” tier gaming chairs on the market. These are highly coveted, established brands with a lot of clout and reputation:
Having said that, once you compare similarly equipped and sized gaming chairs between Secretlab and those from other top tired brands, the cost in many cases are similar. For example:
- Vertagear P-Line 6000: $489 USD
- AKRacing Masters Premium: $549
- Razer Iskur: $499
- DXRacer King: $499
Note: Prices sampled on Dec 15th 2021 before any promotions
When you look at the data, it dispels the myth that Secretlab chairs are greatly overpriced relative to other “A” tiered gaming chair vendors.
Secretlab Build Quality
This is where Secretlab earns a lot of its “worthiness” in my opinion- build quality and resale value.

The build quality of the Secretlab Titan chairs in general is simply impeccable. These are chairs built to easily last 7 – 10 years. You can tell Secretlab paid attention to every single component on the Titan to maximize longevity.
All the major links in the Titan chairs are made of either durable metal or aluminum, including the controls on the armrests. The PU leatherette on the Titan chairs is 12x more durable than regular PU leather. The cold cured foam found inside the Titan chairs is top notch, and should keep its shape for the lifetime of the chair.
When I sold my Secretlab Titan 2020 to a friend after 2 years (due to a move), he literally thought the chair was new.
Features and Innovation
Another area that makes Secretlab chairs worth it in my opinion is the amount of innovative features you get. This is something I find seriously lacking with most other gaming chair brands.

The neck pillow on the Titan Evo for example attaches itself to the backrest via magnets instead of a strap. Apart from impressing your friends, this allows the pillow to be easily adjusted for height and even removable on a whim. It solves a major nuisance I have with regular external neck pillows that are difficult to position exactly where I want them to while staying in place.
Another unique feature on the Titan chairs that the company continues to innovate is the lumbar support. On the Titan Evo, it’s now both height and depth adjustable despite being built into the backrest itself. For a lot of people (myself included), it’s superior in support and comfort to most gaming chair back pillows you’ll find even on other premium gaming chairs.

And finally, the arm pads on the Titan Evo are swappable. This lets you easily upgrade or replace them should they ever wear out. Think resale value.
Secretlab Warranty and Support
All Secretlab Titan chairs come the following buyer’s guarantee:
- 3 year warranty
- The option to extend the warranty to 5 years for an additional $50
- 49 days return policy. Buyer pays for return shipping fee.
Copy of Secretlab Warranty:

At 3 years warranty, this is quite generous in the industry.
Copy of Secretlab Return Policy:

Secretlab’s 49 days return policy also beats the industry standard duration of 30 days.
For comparison, here are the buyer’s guarantee provided by some of the other “A” list gaming chair brands:
- DXRacer: 2 years warranty
- AndaSeat: 2 years warranty
- Razer: 3 years warranty
- VertaGear: 2 years
- Noblechairs: 2 years
- Corsair: 2 years
- AKRacing: 5 years
Titan Evo 2022 vs Titan 2020 – Which One is more Worth It?
Even with the advent of the new Titan Evo 2022 edition, Secretlab continues to make available the older 2020 edition on their website, sold at a discount. The question is then, which one should you get?

I’ve tried both chairs, and based on the current pricing, I would say the older Titan 2020 does offer slightly better value.
Here’s a breakdown of the things that each edition beats the other at based on my observation:
Titan Evo 2022 – What it Does Better
- Better strapless neck pillow that magnetically attaches
- Lumbar support is now height adjustable as well
- Swappable arm pads may come in handy in the future
- Higher resale value if you decide to sell in the future
Titan 2020 – What it Does Better
- Better build quality
- Thicker seat cushions
- Smoother recline mechanism
- $50 cheaper
The biggest difference between the two editions is in fact the build quality. The older Titan 2020 edition is essentially flawless in this department. On the Titan Evo, I’ve noticed some minor issues such as the recline mechanism getting stuck sometimes, and the leatherette upholstery starting to wrinkle a bit after a few months of usage.
I should add that the Secretlab Titan Evo was only recently released, and it’s very likely they are still ironing out some of the quality issues I mentioned earlier. In fact, Secretlab’s support told me when I contacted them that they are in fact aware of these issues and will be addressing them in future production.
Regardless, at the present time, you can get a cheaper chair that is better built with minimal compromises in comfort in the Titan 2020 vs the newer Titan Evo. Unless you intend to resell your chair down the road, the former is the better deal in my opinion.
All Things Considered
At first glance, Secretlab’s chairs appear quite expensive, even overpriced. However, once you start comparing it with other top tiered gaming chairs, it quickly becomes clear that the company’s pricing is well within industry range.
On the topic of whether Secretlab’s chairs are worth it, as mentioned at the start, I truly believe they based on their great performance across the board: Build quality, features, comfort, and warranty/ aftercare. Even their resale value is excellent due to how well the chairs age and superb brand recognition. These are all factors that ultimately contribute to the high value of Secretlab chairs.
